I was watching your video on the speed of light where you state the speed of sound is the square root of the speed of light. The speed of sound is 343 ms but I calculate the square root of the speed of light as 173145158 (ms) How do you explain this??

The 343 ms, is the speed of sound in air, I believe, which does not account for the density of the medium. The ratio is 3:√3. This is derived from the equations noted on this page.

So in itself a fairly arbitrary distance on a universal scale. So why does the closeness of the speed of light to 30000000 ms have such significance and why do you say it is 3.

A great observation. The meter is defined from the quarter arc of the earth, which remember is the place where life emerges in the universe. The nature of measurement and scale within the metre is can be divided further by powers of 10, from which notions such a nanometre, femtometre, etc. are established. Time is similar as the division of the second into base 10 produces the nanosecond, microsecond, and so forth. As this scaling notion is calculated in base 10, the effect is that dependant on the scales used, so the apparent number changes. For example, 300,000 KM per sec becomes 300,000,000,000 M per sec. The same applies to the scales of time,i.e 300,000 M per Millisecond, or 300 M in a nanosecond.
