The term circumference is used to denote the boundary of a circle. It is the linear distance around the circle.

Circumference (from Latin circumferens, meaning “carrying around”) refers to the distance around something. It is generally used in context of geometric shapes as the enclosing boundary, especially in relation to a circle.

The length of the circumference is calculated as 2πr, where π is an irrational constant approximated in rational terms as 22/7, r represents the length of the radius of the circle.
