The word chakra literally means disk in sanskrit. But in this context it refers to points of spiritual energy in the subtle human body. As per traditions in India there are seven such chakras in the human body.

1. Root Chakra
(Muladhara)

This represents the foundation, it sits at the base of the spine in tailbone area.

2. Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana)

Location: Lower abdomen, below the navel.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

Location: Upper abdomen in the stomach area

4. Heart Chakra (Anahata)

Location: Center of chest, just above the heart.

5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)

Location: Throat

6. Third-Eye Chakra (Ajna)

Location: Forehead between the eyes (also called the Brow Chakra)

7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

Location: The very top of the head
